Mowing the lawn just doesn't get old. However, all the cute "toy" mowers and trimmers are now pushed to the back of the garage - they are baby toys in storage for Eli. Noah only uses the real thing. Becky, a teacher at the Infant-Toddler program where Eli goes during the day, has given Noah his own (broken) push mower that he uses around the yard. It's perfect. At camp, though, Noah gets to ride on the "big John Deere." It's all he can think about while he's at camp, so we usually space out the mowing so that Noah can do a little bit each day.
Eli is 8 months old! No teeth yet, but lots of drooling. He is pulling himself up on everything: coffee tables, chairs, cribs, toilets. Eli takes delight in spilling the cat's water dish or grabbing fists of catfood to sprinkle around the kitchen. He sticks his head out the cat door. The kid is everywhere! Auntie Lisa predicts that he will walk by the end of September. I don't doubt it.
I think he says "mamamamama" (when he wants to get out of the crib) and I am pretty sure that I am hearing "kit-ty"
Noah is amazing on his bike - I will get some bike video on here in the next few days. He's had a bunch of fantastic adventures with Auntie Lisa and Uncle Mark this summer - just the other day they went mini-golfing. He's also seen Cars 2 and Winnie the Pooh and had several trips out to see Nana Paula and Grampa Steve at their camp on the lake. Lisa sent these pics from their trip - the camp is behind a golf course (that also has a tractor ) -- all super cool things in Noah's world.
We have really appreciated our Aunties and Uncles this summer. My hours at UB are often late into the night, and with Gene working nights, there are times when we have needed child care - and there has always been someone there to help... what would we do with out you?? MUCH love to Lisa, Mark, Denise and Ernie.
No teeth yet but lots of drooling. He looks at solid food with envy. |
